Crash Into Cherry Hill Dentist's Office Results In Fire, Injuries: PD

The fire was extinguished, and the driver's injuries weren't fatal, authorities said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A recent crash on Route 70 in Cherry Hill caused a fire and injured the driver, police said.

Officials shut down part of the roadway for several hours Tuesday afternoon after a tree-service truck hit a dentist's office. Police informed Patch that the driver was taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries.

At about 12:45 p.m., the driver lost control while traveling eastbound on Route 70 around S Kings Highway, according to Cherry Hill Police Lt. Thomas Leone. The vehicle then ran off the road and struck the front of the building at 101 Route 70 E, authorities said.

The address belongs to Lakeview Dental Care of Cherry Hill. Photos from the Cherry Hill Fire Department show the vehicle's front end pushed against the building.

The vehicle's engine compartment ignited, but the Cherry Hill Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Cherry Hill's building inspector evaluated the property damage at the scene.

The Cherry Hill Police Department's Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash. Police had no additional public information on the incident as of Wednesday morning.
