Crews Battle Fire At Vacant School In Camden County

The fire broke out at a vacant school in Camden around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, officials said.

CAMDEN, NJ — Fire crews battled a two-alarm blaze at a vacant school in Camden County on Saturday morning.

Camden firefighters were called to 6th and Mt. Vernon Streets shortly before 9:30 a.m., where they found flames coming from the building, according to officials and an Action News report.

Video shot by Action News showed black smoke billowing from the building's roof.

Fire crews gained control of the fire around 12:15 p.m., the report said.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the blaze.
