Victim Of Fatal Shooting Behind Iron Hill Brewery In South Jersey Identified

No one has been charged, and the shooting remains under investigation.

MAPLE SHADE, NJ — The victim of a fatal shooting that took place in the parking lot behind Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant in Maple Shade has been identified as 26-year-old Devon Young, of Willingboro, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday evening.

Police responded to the brewery on East Kings Highway at about 8:25 a.m., and found Young suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel attempted to save him, but he died as a result of the shooting.

An autopsy is being conducted by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

Police believe Young was the intended target, and this wasn't a random shooting. The area where the shooting occurred was immediately secured.

No employees or customers were injured or involved in the incident, and the brewery is co-operating in the investigation, the brewery said in a statement. The brewery will reopen at 5:30 p.m.

No charges have been filed in the case, which remains under investigation by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, High-Tech Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit, and by detectives from the Maple Shade Police Department.

Young worked at Albo Appliance and Mattress store, adjacent to Iron Hill, according to NBC 10. One of the employees at the mattress store told the news station they were under lock down after the shooting.

Some of the roofers at a nearby work site told 6 ABC they heard anywhere between five and seven shots.

Iron Hill opened in Maple Shade in 2009, according to the Burlington County Times.
