Driver Charged With Attempted Murder In NJ Turnpike Road Rage Shooting
Police said a North Carolina man fired several shots at an SUV while driving on the Turnpike in Mansfield Township.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A North Carolina man is facing charges after state police said he shot at a person in a vehicle during a road rage incident on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Brandon Rudd, 34, of South Mills, N.C., was charged this week with attempted murder and weapons offenses following the incident that occurred just before midnight on Oct. 31, New Jersey State Police said in a news release.
According to police, Rudd’s Nissan Altima and the victim’s Cadillac Escalade were both traveling southbound on the Turnpike in Mansfield Township when Rudd shot at and struck the Escalade several times.

On Nov. 8, police located Rudd in North Carolina and took him into custody. After searching his home and car, police found evidence connecting him to the shooting, including a gun and matching ammunition.
Rudd was also charged with aggravated assault, possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose. He is currently in custody at the Albemarle District Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.
