Driver Killed, Car Splits In Half During Cherry Hill Crash: Authorities
The driver sped down the road and made no attempt to negotiate a curve before the crash killed them and injured a passenger, police said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — A car split in half during a chaotic crash, killing the driver and injuring their passenger Sunday morning in Cherry Hill, police said.
At 4:08 a.m., a 2022 Chevy Impala sped westward down Route 38, according to law enforcement. The driver made "no attempt" to negotiate the curve as they approached the Church Road Circle, said Police Chief Robert Kempf.
The vehicle hit the curb and went onto the grass median, where it struck a utility pole on the passenger's side. This caused the car to rotate and slide as it slid the grass before hitting another pole on the driver's side door, Kempf said.
