East Field Hockey Upsets Brick, West Falls in First Round of Playoffs
The Cougars win, 2-1, while the Lions take a 5-0 loss.

Taylor Janney took a feed from Leah Singer on a corner early in the second half and fired it home to break a 1-1 tie and give No. 10-seeded Cherry Hill East an opening-round upset victory at No. 7-seeded Brick Township in the Central Jersey, Group 4 playoffs Thursday.
Taylor Patrizzi scored the Cougars' other goal in the first half.
East moves on to play at Toms River South, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Cherry Hill West
A day after an emotional 2-1 win over Williamstown, the Lions couldn't find any offense against Toms River North, which poured on the scoring in the first half to win, 5-0, and knock out West in the first round.
