East Girls', Boys' Swimming On Top of Power Point Rankings

Cherry Hill East's boys' and girls' swim teams look like the ones to beat come playoff time, and West's boys are among the contenders, going by the unofficial power points released by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association this week.

The undefeated East girls are way out in front in Central Jersey's Division A, leading second-place Cherokee—a team the Cougars smashed earlier this season, 109-61—by more than 600 points. Their current unofficial total of 4,117.5 puts the Cougars second-best among all public A-division teams in the state, trailing only Hunterdon Central.

The East boys are likewise dominant in Central Jersey's Division A, with a nearly 570-point lead over second-place Cherokee in the unofficial standings. East has lost just two meets all season—by a combined 10 points—to Haddonfield and Shawnee.

West's boys, meanwhile, are in the mix with an unofficial total of 2,725.5, but would need to make up more than 100 points to spring into the middle of the playoff pack.
