East Girls Lacrosse Provides Local Highlight Reel Friday

Camden Catholic's baseball and softball teams also pick up wins on a tough Friday.

Cherry Hill East's Caitlin Delaney nearly beat Gloucester Catholic by herself, scoring six goals to pace the Cougars in their second win of the season, 15-7. East racked up double-digit goals for the third straight game and bounced back from an OT loss in beating the Rams.

The Cougars fell for the second time in the week to the other team from the west side of the township, this time in the opening round of the Camden County tournament at Eastern.

Washington Township 6, East 4

The Cougars kept pace through five innings, but Washington Township broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth and never relinquished the lead. Zach Steinbock had a double for East.

Camden Catholic 11, Haddon Heights 3

The Irish never gave Haddon Heights a chance, as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first and second innings and kept pouring on the offense in the late innings. Tom Gallagher, who had three hits, and Mike Wheeler each tripled for Camden Catholic. Jim Robinson got the win on the mound for the Irish.
