East Girls Tennis Rained Out, Moved to Friday

With a nor'easter dumping as much as an inch of rain on the area, Cherry Hill East's South Jersey, Group 4 semifinal girls tennis match against Toms River North has been postponed to Friday, school officials said.

The No. 2-seeded Cougars, who got to the semis via a win over Shawnee Tuesday, are tentatively scheduled to host No. 3-seeded Mariners on their home court at 3 p.m., but the threat of continued rain means the team will use the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club as a backup location.

If the match has to go indoors, it will start at 1 p.m. at the racquet club.

In a non-tournament match, East beat Lenape, the top seed in South Jersey, Group 4, on Wednesday, 4-1.
