East Swim Teams Top Seeds in South, West Girls No. 2 in Central

Cherry Hill East's boys' and girls' swim teams are the top seeds in the public South Jersey, Group A bracket, and West's girls' have been bumped into another section and are No. 2 in Central Jersey, Group A, according to unofficial seedings released by the Star-Ledger Monday.

East's teams were dominant in the New Jersey State Athletic Association (NJSIAA) power points standings released two weeks ago and revised last Monday, and both remained in the South Jersey section at the NJSIAA's seeding meeting.

Unofficially, the East girls will host No. 8 Washington Township in the first round, while the East boys will host No. 8 Sterling.

The West girls, meanwhile, were shifted out of South A and bumped into the Central Jersey bracket, where they're behind only Hunterdon Central in the seedings. They'll host No. 7 Lenape in the first round.

The West boys, a bubble team in the South standings, didn't make the cut for the team tournament.

In the Non-Public bracket, Camden Catholic's boys are the No. 5 seed in South Jersey, Group A, and will travel to Notre Dame for the first round.

Since all brackets are unofficial at this point, changes could happen between now and their official release Tuesday afternoon.

The opening round for Group A is slated for Friday, with semifinals Monday, Feb. 11 and group finals Friday, Feb. 15.
