El Gran Combo's Camden Concert Rescheduled

A new date for the postponed concert was announced on Wednesday.

A concert featuring el Gran Combo, the “most famous salsa group that has ever existed,” has been rescheduled, Camden County officials announced on Wednesday. It is now set for Monday, Aug. 28 at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden. The concert was originally scheduled for June 19 at Wiggins Waterfront Park but was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

“The concert is free to all attendees and there are absolutely no tickets required,” Camden County Freeholder Deputy Director Ed McDonnell, liaison to the Camden County Department of Special Events, said. “Limited pavilion seating will be available in addition to the thousands of seats for those who will spread across the venue’s lawn area. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the concert starting at 8 p.m. rain or shine.”

El Gran Combo is a Puerto Rican salsa group which rose to fame during the 1970s. In the band’s more than 50 years of playing and recording music, it has released more than 70 albums, all of which are certified either platinum or gold.
