CHERRY HILL, NJ — Wawa will soon hold a celebration, marking "Wawa Day" by offering free hot coffee of any size all Thursday.

Wawa Day celebrates the retailer's opening in April 1964. Beginning with one location in Folson, Pennsylvania, the chain now has roughly 950 stores and continues to expand.

Every Wawa store will give away a free hot coffee of any size Thursday to customers. Each location will also present a "Day Brightener" gift — a week's worth of coffee — to a customer who's "near and dear to the store team."

The free coffee is limited to one per customer. All Wawa locations, including those in Cherry Hill, will offer the deal Thursday.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring back our traditional Wawa Day festivities to honor the millions of customers who have been such an integral part of our growth through the years," Wawa CEO Chris Gheysens said in a statement.
