Fundraiser Held For Cherry Hill Education Foundation
Most of the money that was raised will fund grants that go to teachers in the Cherry Hill School District, a foundation member said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — The results are in: "Dancing With the Cherry Hill Stars," raised about $31,000 for the Cherry Hill Education Foundation, an organizer of the event told Patch.
Most of the funds raised from the event will support the Cherry Hill Education Foundation's efforts to "fund innovative grant requests from teachers" throughout the Cherry Hill School District, Jon Cohen, president of the Cherry Hill Education Association, told Patch.
"Teachers submit grant applications for items they would love to have in their classrooms to enhance the learning experience for their students," he explained.

During the past 14-plus years, the foundation has awarded almost $1.2 million in grants and donations to the school district's 19 schools, according to the foundation.
Some of these grants and donations were used to support a climbing wall in the Alternative High School's gym, an upright piano for Cherry Hill High School West's vocal music room and suicide/mental health screening for students in the Cherry Hill East, Cherry Hill West and Alternative high schools, the foundation added.

The remaining funds raised from "Dancing with the Cherry Hill Stars will support other foundation events, according to Cohen.
