General Election Showdown Set In Cherry Hill: What To Expect For November
Cherry Hill residents will have important choices to make at the local, county and state levels of government.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — With Tuesday's primaries in the books, the general election showdown is set for Cherry Hill.
This November, residents will head to the polls again to select a mayor and three Township Council members. Cherry Hill voters will also elect school-board candidates, county officials and the 6th Legislative District's State House representation.
Many of the races on Cherry Hill's ballots featured uncontested primaries — outside of the Democratic contests for County Committee representation and Camden County Board of Commissioners. But Nov. 7's general election will give Cherry Hill residents an important say in voting at the local, county and state levels of government.

In the mayoral race, Council President David Fleisher will represent the Democratic ticket, facing Republican Nicole A. Nance. With three council seats available, the Democratic incumbents — Jennifer Apell, Brian Bauerle and Michele Golkow — will run against Republican challengers David Lodge, Diane C. Carr, and Rossana Parsons.
All of New Jersey's State Senate and Assembly seats are also on the ballot this fall. In the 6th Legislative District, which includes Cherry Hill, the Democratic incumbents — State Sen. James Beach and Assembly Members Louis D. Greenwald and Pamela R. Lampitt — are running for re-election.

The GOP didn't have a State Senate candidate in the 6th District. But Daniel M. Kenny and Danielle M. Barry will represent the party in the Assembly race.
Cherry Hill Public Schools will also have a Board of Education election this November. But the election field won't take shape until this summer, since school-board candidates around New Jersey have until July 31 to file petitions to get on the ballot. (School-board membership in the state is nonpartisan, so the elections don't have primaries.)
In the Democratic primary for the Board of County Commissioners, the incumbent ticket of Louis Cappelli, Jr. and Jonathan L. Young, Sr. held a commanding lead, as of Thursday, over the South Jersey Progressive Democrats ticket of Kate Delaney and Samuel E. Sweet. Republicans Jason Fanning and Norman C. Rebel, Jr. had an uncontested primary.
The election results remain unofficial until certified.
