Girl Scouts honor Patricia A. Hartpence as a Woman of Distinction

2016 Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ Woman of Distinction: Patricia A. Hartpence

The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, Inc. (GSCSNJ) have named five outstanding female leaders as Women of Distinction for 2016. The women receiving awards are leaders in their fields, innovators of unique programs and services, and are role models and mentors to tomorrow’s generation. All of the honorees demonstrate that studying, hard work, and dreaming big are the keys for women and girls to succeed at achieving their goals. GSCSNJ’s annual Women of Distinction event is a celebration of women who exemplify excellence and accomplishment. GSCSNJ will host an award breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia – Cherry Hill, on Thursday, March 17th from 8:30 – 10:30 AM.

The 2016 Women of Distinction Award Event honors Patricia A. Hartpence, Assistant Vice President and Director of Corporate Giving, a part of the Public Affairs department at NJM Insurance Group. Hartpence began her career at NJM as a management trainee. She was employed in this capacity for several years, during which time Hartpence earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Rider College in 1986 and was promoted to Manager of Personal Lines Support Services in 1991.

Hartpence joined NJM’s Human Resources Department in September 1999 where she concentrated on employment practices and special projects/employee activities. In April 2004, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President and assumed further duties relating to core HR functions. Her current responsibilities entail oversight of NJM’s corporate giving, community outreach, and employee matching & volunteer programs.

Along with her full-time position, Hartpence is involved with many committees and boards. Hartpence joined the board of HomeFront in 2009 and currently serves as secretary. She has been a member of the Kidsbridge board since 2010 and the Junior Achievement Central Board since 2012. Hartpence has also been a member of the American Heart Association’s Executive Leadership Team for the Greater Mercer Heart Walk since 2010. Since 1989, Hartpence has been a chairperson of the Ways and Means Committee of the Insurance Professional of Mercer County and has chaired the Hospitality Committee of the Human Resource Management Association of Princeton for several years. She also served as President of the CPCU Society of Central NJ in 2009-2010.

The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ is proud to honor Hartpence as a 2016 Woman of Distinction, as she is a female leader and role model to future generations. Ginny Marino, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, states, “Pat discovered and capitalized on her strengths to build a life she loves, connects with others through service in the community, at work, and in her family, and takes action regularly to make the world a better place. Pat is the ultimate Girl Scout. We are honored to count her among our alumnae and celebrate her this year as a Woman of Distinction.”

Along with her incredible professional life, Hartpence has been married since 1982 to Marvin R. Hartpence, Jr. and has two sons, Timothy and Ryan. The family resides in West Amwell, New Jersey.
