Jefferson Cherry Hill Recognized As A Top Teaching Hospital

Jefferson Cherry Hill is one of five New Jersey hospitals ranked among the best in the country for teaching.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Jefferson Hospital Cherry Hill has been ranked as one of the top teaching hospitals in the country by The Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog Group is a national watchdog organization of employers and other purchasers focused on health care safety and quality.

Jefferson Cherry Hill is among 56 hospitals nationally that was selected as a top teaching hospital. Five of those hospitals are in New Jersey.

“This Top Hospital Award is a tremendous achievement for the entire staff of our Cherry Hill Hospital,” Jefferson New Jersey President Joseph W. Devine said. “This recognition points to our singular focus on patient safety and quality.”

The Leapfrog Group also recently gave Jefferson Cherry Hill an “A” for safety. In this instance, The Leapfrog Group considered more than 2,100 hospitals for awards in four different categories, including General Hospitals, Teaching Hospitals, Rural Hospitals, and Children’s Hospitals.

To qualify, hospitals must rank top among peers in the 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on quality and patient safety. To see the full methodology, visit leapfroggroup.org.
