The Jewish Community Foundation celebrated a Successful First Year of New Life & Legacy Program

The Southern New Jersey Jewish Community ranks number one Nationally

The Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. celebrated a successful first year of the LIFE & LEGACY™ initiative as part of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation when they welcomed nearly 175 community members representing Jewish organizations from across Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties to Congregation Beth El on Thursday, May 14th for an evening reception. The Southern New Jersey Jewish community secured the most commitments in Year One of the program when compared to all of the communities participating in the LIFE & LEGACY program across the country. Highlighting the evening was keynote speaker Barbara Greenspan Shaiman who expounded on her motto for everybody to “Live Your Legacy,” meaning that anybody can find a way to make a difference by using one’s passion to fix a problem in society.

The purpose of the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. is to foster and facilitate sustainable philanthropy to support the mission of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and the needs of the Jewish community here, in Israel, and around the world. The JCF seeks to create a climate that supports funding of programs and organizations by involving agencies, synagogues, day schools, individuals, and families in the planning process. It strives to provide long-term funding vehicles for philanthropic action and education on philanthropic needs. Formerly the Bequest and Endowment Fund, the Foundation was created in 1979 to develop resources needed to ensure the future vitality of the Jewish community encompassing Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties. It serves the Jewish Federation and its family of agencies, as well as area synagogues and organizations.
