Major Road Work To Close Camden Streets, Ben Franklin Bridge Access

Access over the bridge to Philadelphia will not be possible from 7th Street/downtown Camden during work hours Thursday and Friday.

CAMDEN, NJ — Roadwork will close westbound access to the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden on Thursday and Friday, commissioners said.

The intersection of Linden Street and 7th Street will be closed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18. Access over the bridge to Philadelphia will not be possible from 7th Street/downtown Camden during work hours.

Detours and traffic control will be in place, county commissioners said. Access into North Camden off of Linden Street will be available via 8th and 10th Streets, officials said.

“This is a major thruway into the city that thousands of motorists utilize every day,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, in a news release. “Motorists should take alternate routes, give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations and consider taking public transportation for the duration of the closure.”

From downtown Camden to Ben Franklin Bridge Westbound:

  • Federal Street to (right on) Flanders Ave, (right onto Rt 30 WB ramp)
  • MLK Blvd. to 11th Street/Flanders Ave., (left onto) Rt 30 WB ramp
    • From US 30 Westbound to downtown Camden:
  • 17th Street to (left on) Federal Street
  • MLK Blvd/Campbell’s Place exit
  • Linden Street to (left on) 10th Street (south) to (right on) Market Street

    • From 676 North to downtown Camden:
  • Exit 4 (Atlantic Ave/Kaighns Ave) – Atlantic Ave to Broadway
  • Exit 5A (MLK Blvd/Campbell’s Place)
    • Alternate routes include:

    From downtown Camden to Ben Franklin Bridge Westbound:
  • Federal Street to (right on) Flanders Ave, (right onto Rt 30 WB ramp)
