Man Shot Self In Cherry Hill Police-Involved Shooting: Authorities
The Cherry Hill officer who fired his weapon and the man killed were both identified Tuesday by the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Officials have identified the man who died during a police encounter in Cherry Hill on October 11, and the officer who fired his service weapon.
The New Jersey Attorney General's Office said Cherry Hill police went to a residence in the 3000 block of Chapel Avenue West to check on a resident's well-being. Original story — Cherry Hill Police-Involved Shooting Under State Investigation: AG
When they went into the residence, they saw a man "who reached for a firearm and then shot himself," according to a news release from Acting Attorney General Matthew Platkin's office. Officer Jared Fox of the Cherry Hill Police Department fired his service weapon, police said.

The man, identified as 63-year-old Joseph Bestick Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The state Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability will continue investigating the shooting. The AG's office opens an investigation anytime a fatal police-involved shooting is reported.
