The mother, 65, died in hospice several weeks after sustaining a head injury. Police arrested her son and charged him with manslaughter.

CAMDEN, NJ — A Salem County man faces charges after his 65-year-old mother died of a blunt head force injury earlier this year, officials said.
Gary Richman, 36, and his mother Sandra drove from their home in Pedricktown (Oldmans Township) to the Cramer Hill section of Camden on the morning of May 23, according to a news release.
During the trip, Sandra Richman "sustained a blunt force head injury," Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.

Gary Richman drove her to Cooper University Hospital for treatment, MacAulay and Rodriguez said. She died on June 12 at a hospice care facility, the news release said. The Office of Gloucester-Camden-Salem Counter Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, caused by complications from a blunt force head injury.
Police arrested Gary Richman "on an unrelated matter" on May 25 and held him at the Salem County Correctional Facility while they investigated his mother's death, officials said.

Salem County jail records show Gary Richman is also in custody on robbery, theft, and traffic charges.
Sandra Richman was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Paulsboro High School, according to her obituary. She worked as a guard for DuPont at their Deepwater facility.
