MFS Student From Cherry Hill Named Governor's School Scholar

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A junior from Cherry Hill is one of two Moorestown Friends School students who have been selected as New Jersey Governor’s School Scholars, the school announced. Hannah Jin, of Cherry Hill, and Jalen Patel, of Allentown, have been recognized for their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

This summer, Jin and Patel will participate in intensive, multi-week residential programs at New Jersey universities.

Jin will attend the New Jersey Governor’s School in the Sciences at Drew University, and Patel will attend the Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology at Rutgers University. Both programs include comprehensive educational programming, research projects, and visits to local STEM-focused companies.

The Governor’s School of New Jersey was established in 1983. The tuition-free programs are open to students from diverse economic backgrounds who are New Jersey residents and who have completed their junior year in any public or private high school or are home-schooled.
