Monday Morning Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, Camden County Police Say
Police seek information about a shooting Monday morning that fatally injured a 35-year-old man.
CAMDEN, NJ — County police are investigating after a fatal shooting Monday morning in Camden, and ask the public's help for information identifying a suspect.
Police received a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire near the 1100 block of Lansdowne Avenue at 8:21 a.m., said Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez in a news release.
Officers found a man, identified as 35-year-old Mustapha Gbassa of Camden, with a gunshot wound according to MacAulay and Rodriguez. First responders transported him to Virtua Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:31 a.m., officials said.

The prosecutor's office did not release information on a suspect, and no arrests have been made.
