The last place someone wants to be killed or injured is where they work, but it does happen, unfortunately. More often than not, workers have to worry more about injuries on the job than they do deaths, but there are cases where employees die while preforming work-related tasks.
Each state may have more dangerous jobs than others, but in Pennsylvania, there are five common jobs that are surprisingly among the most dangerous statewide.
1. Public Administration
The reason that Public Administration is listed as the most dangerous job in Pennsylvania is because it includes government positions such as police officers and other first responders. They average the most injuries and deaths per year of all jobs in Pennsylvania.

2. Agriculture
Sound surprising? The reason for this being one of the most dangerous jobs throughout Pennsylvania is because of the condition these farmers face every day. They are dealing with tough temperatures, a lot of chemicals, and heavy machinery every day. These factors make agriculture one of the most dangerous job fields in Pennsylvania.
3. Construction
This one may seem a little more obvious than agriculture, as construction workers are often dealing with large pieces of equipment, a lot of heavy metal, and high heights. For these reasons, being a construction worker means a high risk for injury, making it one of the most dangerous jobs in Pennsylvania.

4. Mining
There are still a decent number of mines in Pennsylvania, and working underground with heavy pieces of machinery and low ceilings leads to a lot of yearly injuries. Because of the work environment they’re in, it is one of the most dangerous jobs in Pennsylvania.
5. Transportation
Being on the road all the time puts those who drive for a living at a high risk of a car accident. In Pennsylvania, this job results in a lot of injuries and car accidents, making it one of the most dangerous jobs.
