Murder Charges Filed Against South Jersey Man

CAMDEN, NJ — A man was arrested Friday after a woman was found fatally shot and another person was injured, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Marquis Fletcher, 36, of Camden was charged with murder in the death of 37-year-old Nicole Carr, authorities said. Fletcher was being held in jail to await further proceedings, authorities said.

Police had found Carr about 11 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Eutaw Street suffering from gunshot wounds, according to authorities. She died about an hour later at Cooper University Hospital, according to authorities.

Police also found a 61-year-old man they did not identify at the same time and location who had been assaulted, authorities said. His condition was not released as of Friday afternoon.
