“We expect more than 150,000 visitors to Wiggins Waterfront Park this summer for events ranging from great entertainment like the Fourth of July Fireworks and Sunset Jazz Series to activities such as waterfront yoga and workout Wednesdays,” Camden County Freeholder Jeff Nash, liaison to the Camden County Parks Department, said. “My colleagues on the Freeholder Board and I know how much residents enjoy the outdoors, and we strive to continually improve Camden County’s parks so that they provide maximum entertainment and fun for the whole family.”

There will be activities for children: jugglers, face painting and inflatable bounce houses.

There will be activities for adults, notably a Beer Garden, with local brewers, distillers and vineyards like Flying Fish, Petty’s Island Rum and wine from Sharrott Winery.

Free event parking will be provided at the Waterfront, courtesy of the City of Camden Parking Authority.

“The city is thrilled to celebrate Fourth of July on our Waterfront,” Camden Mayor Dana L. Redd said. “The third annual Freedom Festival and spectacular fireworks display will draw residents from the city and the greater region, and truly transform the Camden Waterfront into a premier destination in the region.”

The festival continues on Sunday with Military Appreciation Day. Troops will receive discounted admission to the Adventure Aquarium and the Battleship New Jersey. The Battleship New Jersey offers active military, WWII veterans and former USS NJ crewmembers free tours.

Wiggins Waterfront Park is located at Riverside Drive and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in Camden. All of the events are made possible through a joint partnership between the Camden County Freeholder Board, the City of Camden, Cooper’s Ferry Partnership, and the City of Camden Parking Authority.

The Camden County Department of Public Safety reminds all Camden County residents that the 911 system is for emergency calls only. The county’s dispatchers are not able to inform residents of the locations and times of fireworks displays in their area.
