N.J. Man Killed, 2 Others Hurt In Lightning Strike, Authorities Say
A 38-year-old N.J. man was killed and 2 others were hurt when lightning struck as they were swimming in a lake, according to authorities.

A 38-year-old New Jersey man was killed and two others were hurt when lightning struck as they were swimming in a lake Saturday, according to authorities.
Jose Lopez-Hernandez was joined by a 33-year-old man, his 12-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter at 7:36 p.m. Saturday at Beltzville State Park in Pennsylvania when the incident occurred, according to nj.com.
A park ranger at the time saw lightning and went on a speaker system to alert swimmers to get out of the lake. An investigation showed Lopez-Hernandez of Camden managed to get out of the water and then collapsed in the beach area, according to the report.

The Lehigh County coroner’s office said Lopez-Hernandez died just after 3 a.m. Sunday at Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest, and an autopsy is scheduled Monday to determine the exact cause of death, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
The other man and his two children exhibited signs of "electrical shock" after getting out of the water. The man and 12-year-old boy were taken to Palmerton Hospital for an evaluation, while the girl was not injured, according to nj.com.
