New Jersey Man Beat 2-Year-Old Boy To Death: Prosecutor

A 24-year-old New Jersey man was arrested and charged over the weekend for beating a 2-year-old boy to death, according to authorities.

A 24-year-old New Jersey man was arrested and charged over the weekend for beating a 2-year-old boy to death, according to authorities.

Zachary Tricoche of Pennsauken was charged in the beating death of the young boy on Saturday, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The discovery was made after Pennsauken Police responded at approximately 11:28 p.m. on Saturday to the 5900 block of Mansion Boulevard in Pennsauken in reference to an unresponsive child, according to the CCPO.

Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and quickly transported the 2-year old boy to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:08 a.m. Sunday.

The investigation conducted by Detectives Frank Simpson of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and John Kelly of the Pennsauken Police Department led to the arrest of Tricoche for the beating death of the young boy. Tricoche is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother.

Tricoche is charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Camden County Jail. The arraignment will be held before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 36 of the Camden County Hall of Justice.
