NJ Man Arrested For Murder In Connecticut: U.S. Marshals

CAMDEN, NJ — A 47-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a 2021 deadly shooting in Connecticut, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Curtis Cole, of Camden, was charged with murder, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.

On June 6, 2021, Hamden, Connecticut officers responded to a report of shots fired near 20 Hamden Park Dr.

They found Jonquay Morrison, 38, of Hamden, left wounded.

He later died from his injuries, authorities said.

An arrest warrant for murder was issued for Cole on July 23.

The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in Connecticut found that Cole was in New Jersey, and sent a collateral lead to the area.

Cole was arrested without conflict in Camden and taken to the Camden County Sheriff's Office.

He now waits to be extradited to Connecticut with a bond of $3 million.
