NJ Man Beats Woman To Death With Baseball Bat, Prosecutor Says
He collapsed after he was done.
CAMDEN, NJ — A woman is dead after she was beaten with a baseball bat in Camden on Wednesday, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.
Enoch Rembert, 28 of Camden, was arrested and is charged with first-degree murder and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
At around 11:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of 5th Street and Bailey Street for a report of an unconscious woman in the road.

Lisa Mellet, 51 of Camden, was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where she died at 12:24 a.m. on Thursday.
Later on Thursday, the medical examiner determined her cause of death to be from blunt abdominal trauma and ruled a homicide.

Detectives were able to get surveillance footage that showed Rembert walking to the area of 5th Street and Erie Street and hitting Mellet multiple times with the bat.
He then walked away to the area of 5th Street and Bailey Street and collapsed.
Rembert was taken into custody and then taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
Mellet and Rembert knew each other from the neighborhood, officials added.
