NJSIAA Releases Revised Swimming Power Points, West Girls No. 2

Five teams in the swimming playoff picture—including the Cherry Hill West girls' team—left out of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association's initial release of unofficial playoff power points have shifted the picture dramatically, following a revised release Monday morning.

Despite racking up a 7-1 record and 3617 power points—according to the revised rankings—the West girls were nowhere to be found in the initial release put out by the state association last week.

Now, they trail only cross-town rival Cherry Hill East and lead third-place Cherokee by 140 points.

While it's good news for the West girls, the West boys' playoff chances shrank with the revisions the NJSIAA posted, which include a new No. 2 team—West Windsor-Plainsboro North—in the standings.

West's boys went from a playoff bubble team to on the outside looking in, bumping down from eighth place in the unofficial standings down to 10th, following the revisions, which also added South Brunswick to the mix.

East's boys' team remains solid in first place unofficially, still commanding a more than 500-point lead.
