No Masks Required For Cherry Hill Public School Students On Buses

Some bus drivers told Cherry Hill students they needed masks today after other districts updated their policies, CHPS officials said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill Public Schools students do not need to mask up on school buses, the district confirmed Tuesday.

Some bus drivers mistakenly told CHPS students they needed face masks on Tuesday morning, district officials said. Camden City and Camden County Vo-tech had emailed the bus terminals about updated mask policies at their districts, Cherry Hill said, but these policies don't apply to students attending school in the township.

"On some of our bus routes this morning, drivers told students they would need to wear masks while riding the bus for the next two weeks," the district said.

"Some drivers mistakenly thought the update applied to Cherry Hill routes/students," the school district continued. "The bus company is emphasizing to drivers today that the policy does not apply to the Cherry Hill Public Schools. We apologize for the confusion."
