No Visitors Permitted At Jefferson Cherry Hill, Hospital Says

Jefferson Hospitals in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township have stopped taking visitors as of Monday, the health system said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Jefferson Hospital has stopped allowing visitors at their hospitals in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township as of Monday in an attempt to prevent the spread of new coronavirus, the health system announced. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Visitors are also no longer permitted at the Jefferson Health Care Center (long-term care and sub-acute rehab) in Washington Township. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Additionally, only a mother’s support person and a doula will be allowed in the maternity ward, and only two guardians are permitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Unit. The same two designated guardians will remain throughout the duration of a patient’s stay.

Only parents and legal guardians will be permitted in the child and adolescent psychiatric unit. Hours are limited. To find out hours, call 856-488-6796.

All visitors will be screened using Department of Health criteria. Visitors who have a cough or flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to visit.

A Cherry Hill man who was the first positive case of new coronavirus in Camden County was treated at Jefferson Cherry Hill. He was initially listed in stable condition, and his condition has improved each day since he was hospitalized on March 3, according to county officials.

The New Jersey Department of Health has partnered with the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System to open and operate a call center (1-800-222-1222) for public use regarding questions, concerns, and other information related to coronavirus spread in New Jersey.
