'Operation Chill' Offers Free Slurpees To Cherry Hill Children

Cherry Hill police will give a coupon for a free Slurpee to any child doing good deeds or showing positive behavior.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Cherry Hill Police Department will give free Slurpees to children they see doing good deeds or showing positive behavior. Police announced they are once again teaming up with 7-11 for “Operation Chill” on Monday.

When police see children acting in a kind way, they will present them with a coupon good for a free Slurpee at 7-11. The program started in Philadelphia in 1995 to give law enforcement officers a chance to interact with children and teens in a non-threatening situation.

“Our officers are very excited to get started this summer and begin building relationships with children and teens in our community,” police said in a statement.
