Overnight Road Closure For Direct Connection Project In South Jersey

BREAKING: The closure takes place Friday night.

The Route 42 northbound ramp to I-295 north in Bellmawr will be closed overnight, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) said Friday evening. The ramp will be closed between 10 p.m. Friday night to 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The closure will allow for work access on the right side of the ramp.

A detour will be in effect for ramp access: To access I-295 from Route 42 take exit 1C, Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street then make a right onto I-76 eastbound. Continue on I-76 eastbound to exit 1C, I-295 northbound.

“Motorists need to be mindful of this week’s closures on Route 42, which is one of busiest roadways in South Jersey” Camden County Freeholder Susan Shin-Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “Throughout the 295 construction, please stay prepared for traffic pattern changes and be observant of instructions on the electronic message boards.”
