Pedestrian At Voorhees Town Center Killed By NJ Transit Bus: Police
A pedestrian was struck by a bus as they were leaving Boscov's at the Voorhees Town Center.

VOORHEES TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian police believe was leaving Boscov's Department Store at the Voorhees Town Center has been killed after being hit by an NJ Transit bus, police said on Tuesday.
The unidentified person was hit at about 1:41 p.m. Tuesday afternoon as they were walking outside the store, according to Voorhees Police Capt. Carmen Del Palazzo. Police and EMS attempted to save the person, but the victim died on the scene as a result of their injuries.
Police are searching for witnesses and surveillance video from the scene, and New Jersey State Police are examining the bus for possible malfunctions as a matter of routine, Del Palazzo said. The bus driver was cooperating with the investigation. There were passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information can contact the Voorhees Police Department at 856-428-5400. The Voorhees Police Department is handling the investigation, with the assistance of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
The Voorhees Town Center, formerly known as the Echelon Mall, was built in 1970, and was initially named after Echelon Airfield. It is now a mix of retail shopping, restaurants and condominiums, and serves as the hub for municipal government in the township.

The bus was en route to Turnersville from Camden, according to the Courier Post.
