Permitless Tree Service Companies Causing Headaches In Cherry Hill

They typically go door-to-door, perform work and leave customers with the yard waste, police said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Police are warning Cherry Hill residents about tree-service companies soliciting work without a permit.

Both police and the Department of Public Works have received multiple complaints about the issue.

The companies often perform work and tell the resident they will return to pick up the branches, or that the DPW will retrieve them, police said.

On one occasion, a male falsely represented himself as a public works employee and guaranteed the township would remove the branches, police said.

In Cherry Hill, commercial landscapers must remove all yard waste that they generate. Municipal employees will never knock on doors to solicit any type of work or ask for payment, police said.
