Philly-Famous Pizzeria To Open Cherry Hill Location

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The restaurant that made Philly rethink the shape of pizza is on its way to Cherry Hill.

Santucci's Original Square Pizza is coming to the Holly Ravine Plaza. With renovations underway, Santucci's plans to open early this summer.

In 1959, Joseph and Philomena Santucci opened their first namesake restaurant on "O" Street in Phildelphia's Juniata Park neighborhood. Their family recipe — making pizza in a square pan with the sauce above the cheese — was considered unconventional at first but has since inspired pizzerias throughout the city.

The pizzeria has expanded to new locations, with restaurants throughout Greater Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore.

Cherry Hill's restaurant will be located at 100 Springdale Rd.
