Brown partially blocked the potential game-winning shot from Cherokee's Kyle Kahriger as East held on for a 44-42 victory at home.
No Cougars player broke double digits in the winâJake Silpe and Austin Wetzler each scored nine points, and Brown and Gary Hettinger added eight each.
