Teddy Liddell Wins GOP Primary In Rep. Norcross's District, AP Says

SOUTH JERSEY — Teddy Liddell has won the Republican primary in New Jersey's 1st Congressional District, according to the Associated Press.

The AP called the race just more than 3 hours after polls closed Tuesday night, leading Claire Gustafson by about 1,700 votes at that time.

Rep. Donald Norcross faced an uncontested Democratic primary. Norcross has held the Congressional seat since 2014, and no Republican has won an election to represent NJ-1 in the House of Representatives since 1972.

Liddell — an Army veteran and attorney — received county GOP endorsements from Camden and Burlington counties. Gustafson received the party's support in Gloucester County.
