Pumpkin Fest Kicks Off Season Of Halloween Events In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill kicks off its season of Halloween events next weekend with Pumpkin Fest. Pumpkin Fest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Grand Court at the Cherry Hill Mall, 2000 Route 38.

Events will include a Jack-O-Lantern Carving Contest featuring local artists (amateurs are welcome) who will carve a jumbo pumpkin, as shoppers witness their creative process. Pumpkins will be judged on originality, design, detail, and creativity. First prize is a $500 American Express Gift Card. Register here.

Kids 12 years old and younger in costume (no masks or full face) are welcome and there will be Halloween Selfie Stations. Strolling Halloween characters will include The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus and Frankenstein. They will stroll the mall from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There will be a craft station in which children can decorate a small pumpkin while craft supplies last. Each child may decorate one pumpkin. There will also be a DJ and Monster Mash Kids Dance Party and a Pumpkin Patch Pumpkin Crawl. Visitors can visit each of the Pumpkin Patch vendor table area and get their card stamped to be entered into the prize drawing.

There will also be a game area and more events. This is not a trick-or-treat event, but candy will be available at some small vendor tables while supplies last. Mall restaurants will not be handing out candy.

The Cherry Hill Public Library will host trick-or-treating at the library on Oct. 31, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Families are invited to participate in a parade around the library in their costumes to collect treats from all the departments. Staff will be dressed up too. Allergy-friendly goodies and nonfood treats will also be available.

Afterwards, families can stay for a Slightly Spooky Halloween Movie in the Half Conference Center, Lower Level from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The library will screen "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad."
