Referendum Planned For Cherry Hill School Projects
Projects planned for the referendum were outlined at a recent Board of Education meeting and posted on the district's website.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Cherry Hill Public School District Board of Education is planning a referendum for next year concerning a number of projects related to its “Cherry Hill Public Schools 2020: A Clear Vision for the Future” plan.
The referendum will focus on upgrades to instructional spaces, security, infrastructure, community spaces and hard surfaces, according to the presentation from the Dec. 5 meeting that has been posted on the school district’s website.
The projects outlined in the presentation included:

All Schools:
- Bathroom upgrades;
- Security: Vestibules, cameras inside and outside schools, perimeter and site lighting, and card access;
- Kitchen upgrades and reconfiguration; and
- Paving concrete curbs.
Elementary Schools:

- Upgrades of all purpose rooms, classroom casework and small group instruction rooms;
- Elevator;
- HVAC Replacements and HVAC Control Upgrades;
- Roofing;
- Site Drainage;
- Masonry and Envelope Repairs;
- Exterior Door Replacements;
- Ceilings and Lighting; and
- Entrance Canopies.
Middle Schools:
- Classrooms Door Replacements and Front Entrance Canopies at all three schools;
- Upgrades of classroom ceilings, Masonry Wall Repairs, Site Drainage, Accessible Student Entrance, HVAC Upgrades and Replacements and Stage at Rosa International Middle School;
- Media Center upgrades, alterations to large group instructional rooms, Ceiling Replacements and Stage Alterations and Access at Henry C. Beck Middle School; and
- Upgrades to student lockers and locker rooms, HVAC Upgrades and Replacements, Asbestos Abatement at John A. Carusi Middle School.
Cherry Hill High School East:
Upgrades to the Media Center/Annex;
Electrical Upgrades;
HVAC Replacements;
Gym Bleachers;
Fire Service Main;
Interior/Exterior Wall;
Door Replacements; and
Auditorium and Stage Upgrades.
Cherry Hill High School West:
- Upgrades to student lockers/locker rooms, expand cafeteria space, and repurpose the old auditorium;
- Roofing Replacements;
- HVAC Replacements;
- Sanitary Sewer Line;
- Repair/Replace Elevators;
- Main Entrance Canopy;
- Interior Doors and Hardware; and
- Exterior Wall Replacements.
Athletics:
- Stadium Upgrades;
- Drainage; and
- Backstops.
Following the Dec. 5 presentation, the school district will prepare the specifications and plans for the project application to the the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) in March. NJDOE will then decide whether to approve the application over the summer. If approved, the referendum would go before the public for a vote on Oct. 2, 2018.
