Road Work On Evesham Road In Cherry Hill Begins Sept. 11
The guide rails along the road from Gloucester Township to Cherry Hill will be upgraded as part of the $524,000 project.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Crews will be replacing and improving guide rails along Evesham Road from Gloucester Township to Cherry Hill beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Camden County officials announced.
The $524,000 project is funded by a federal grant for roadway safety improvements and will bring guide rails to current standards along the roadway.
“The Freeholder Board is committed to ensuring the safety of drivers all 1,200 miles of county roadway, which is why we prioritize any project with the potential to save lives,” Camden County Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Department of Public Works, said. “Guide rails are the last line of defense for a driver who has lost control of their vehicle, and Evesham Road is one of the main east/west corridors in Camden County. This is a critical piece of infrastructure to ensure the safety of the thousands of motorists who travel the roadway each day.”

The guide rail improvements will be made in select locations at stream crossings in Gloucester Township, Runnemede, Magnolia, Lawnside, Somerdale, Cherry Hill, and Voorhees. In select locations the project will include handicap ramp improvements, installation of concrete vertical curb and driveway aprons, as well as traffic striping and RPMs.
The project is not expected to require road closures and crews are expected to complete most work during the early morning hours. It is expected to run through January, depending on weather and other factors.
