Rutgers School of Health Professions Opens Programs at Camden County College

PT, Psych Rehab and Interdisciplinary Studies programs open at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences-South Campus in Blackwood

BLACKWOOD, N.J. –The Rutgers School of Health Professions has opened graduate and undergraduate programs at Camden County College on the new Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences-South campus.

The programs are Rutgers School of Health Profession’s Physical Therapy graduate program, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Interdisciplinary Studies graduate and undergraduate programs.

Rutgers School of Health Professions joins Rutgers School of Nursing on the Camden County College campus. Both schools are divisions of the New Brunswick-based Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, and will share space at RBHS-South.

“We’re very excited about opening an RBHS southern campus at Blackwood. The programs offered here are among the fastest-growing health care professions, and this move ensures we have the space and facilities needed to meet the demand for students seeking degrees in these fields,” said Karen Shapiro, Chief Administrative Officer at Rutgers School of Health Professions.

On the 320-acre Camden County College Campus, RBHS - South has its own building for faculty and staff, as well as dedicated classrooms, and newly design lab space for the physical therapy program.

“Camden County College is thrilled to have SHP on campus. We see them as a perfect partner as the College continues grow our already outstanding allied health sciences program,” said Donald A. Borden, college president.

Rutgers School of Health Professions provides education for both entry-level health professionals and practicing health providers seeking specialty and advanced degrees.

The school opened in Newark in 1976 and has grown into the largest, leading health professions school in the country with more than 50 programs, greater than 1,700 students, and four campuses - Newark, Piscataway, Scotch Plains and Blackwood.
