Shots Fired At South Jersey Apartments, Police Say

The man escaped over state lines into New York.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — An 18-year-old man from Florida was arrested after a shooting at an apartment building on Thursday, the Cherry Hill Police Department said.

Brian A. Bush, of Sanford, Florida, was charged second-degree with unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree criminal mischief.

At around 3:45 a.m., officers responded to the Grand Apartments in the 1900 block of Frontage Road for a report of shooting in the parking lot, followed by a car that left the area.

Authorities found a parked car that was shot multiple times, but no injuries were reported.

Using surveillance video, physical evidence, and other resources, detectives were able to identify Bush, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Friday, a car associated with the shooting was found in Suffolk County, New York. Local police stopped the vehicle and took Bush into custody.

He remains in New York waiting for extradition to New Jersey.

Officers also confiscated a handgun during the arrest.
