South Jersey Democrat is Among the State's Wealthiest

George Norcross III made njbiz.com's list at No. 41.

South Jersey’s most prominent Democrat is among the richest people in the state.

In a report released this week by njbiz.com, the 50 wealthiest residents in New Jersey, their hometown, and source of income was divulged.

George E. Norcross III made the list at No. 41. The 58-year-old Cherry Hill resident is worth $248.5 million, and made his wealth through banking, insurance and politics.

Norcross was named the most powerful non-elected player in New Jersey politics by PolitickerNJ.com, and holds an habitual spot on that list, despite not holding a position within the Camden County Democratic Party for about 20 years. At that time, PolitickerNJ.com called him “a human fundraising machine.”

His brother, Donald, represents New Jersey’s First Congressional District in the House of Representatives.

The state’s wealthiest resident is David Alan Tepper, of Livingston, who has an estimated worth of $10B thanks to investments.
