Sports Bar Fire In Cherry Hill Results In Smoke, Water Damage

Kaminski's plans to reopen at 6 p.m. Friday — hours after a fire at its building.

Update, 5:45 p.m.: It turns out, Kaminski's Sports Bar and Restaurant didn't need to stay closed for long. The eatery plans to reopen at 6 p.m. Friday.

Kaminski's will announce a new date for The Backyard Boys — the band originally slated to perform there Friday evening.

The reopening comes hours after Kaminski's said it would be closed until further notice.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A sports bar in Cherry Hill caught fire Friday morning, resulting in some smoke and water damage. Kaminski's Sports Bar and Restaurant will remain closed until further notice.

Crews placed the fire under control at 9:30 a.m. on 1424 Brace Rd., according to the Cherry Hill Fire Department.

There were no injuries, according to Police Chief Robert Kempf.

Kaminski's will remain closed "for the time being," the business said on Facebook. The establishment canceled Friday night's live music.

Officials initially closed a portion of Brace Road, but the roadway reopened in both directions as of 10:40 a.m.

Kaminski's has been a local favorite for bar-goers and diners, especially for watching sports. The family-owned business also hosts live music and other events.
