Battleship's Camden Return To Feature Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band, Philly Mascots
Battleship New Jersey's return home to the Camden Waterfront will include some of the region's best-known hype men (and mascots).

CAMDEN, NJ — Battleship New Jersey's journey home to Camden is set to end on a high note.
The BStreetBand — one of the best-known Bruce Springsteen tribute bands — will perform at the pier when the battleship returns to her home berth on the Camden Waterfront. Philadelphia sports mascots will also join the celebration.
Last March, USS New Jersey (BB-62) set sail for extensive maintenance in Philadelphia, leaving Camden for the first time in decades. The historic battleship will return to Camden on June 20, with a celebration planned for the occasion.

USS New Jersey will begin her journey home Friday, making a pitstop in the Paulsboro Marine Terminal before finishing the journey six days later.

Gates will open for the return celebration at 11 a.m. June 20 along the waterfront. The battleship will arrive at approximately 1:20 p.m., according to the Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial.
The BStreetBand formed more than 40 years ago in Asbury Park. In the decades since, they've held nearly 6,000 shows, performed at prominent venues and have even played with members of the E-Street Band.
Battleship New Jersey hasn't yet announced which Philly mascots will attend.
Tickets to the return celebration cost $10 — children under 12 can attend for free. Proceeds will directly benefit the Battleship's nonprofit, which preserves the historic ship and manages the museum. Get tickets here.
Throughout a half-century of deployments, USS New Jersey earned 19 Battle and Campaign stars — the most of any surviving U.S. Navy ship. The 887-foot, 45,000-ton ship moved to her permanent berth on Sept. 23, 2001, in Camden, becoming one of the state's biggest attractions as a museum.
