Suspicious Envelope Mailed To NJ Congressman

A wave of foreign substance-laced deliveries has been reported nationwide as the country nears the midterms on Nov. 3.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A suspicious envelope was on its way to the Cherry Hill office of Congressman Donald Norcross (D-01) on Monday.

"A single threat against one elected official is chilling enough," Norcross said. "But it's more common than ever that elected officials and their staff - no matter their title nor party - are being targeted for no other reason than choosing public service."

The United States Postal Service intercepted the item, which contained a form of foreign substance, before it was delivered.

"I'm grateful to the Postal Service and law enforcement for identifying the threat and working to keep my staff and I safe," added Norcross.

As the country nears closer to the Nov. 3 General Election, four other offices in New Jersey and dozens nationwide have also reported receiving similar substance-laced mail.
