Tommy's Tavern Opens Next Week In Cherry Hill

The former home of Houlihan's will get new life, with an emerging, family-friendly restaurant chain entering the Route 70 space.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The wait is almost over. Tommy's Tavern + Tap in Cherry Hill will open next week.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. March 27 at 2050 Route 70, the local chain announced on social media.

Tommy's Tavern has about 10 locations — mostly throughout New Jersey. The restaurants pride themselves on having something for everyone, whether patrons are making a family outing or getting drinks. Menu items range from pizza to flatbreads to sushi, along with beer, wine and cocktails.

The restaurants are named after founder Thomas Bonfiglio, who oversaw the chain's expansion during the pandemic as other industry members struggled. The restaurateur and New Jersey resident died in July 2022 at age 62, but his family continues to run the business and carry his legacy.

Bonfiglio founded the Triple T Hospitality Group, which owns all Tommy's restaurants, along with Tio Taco + Tequila Bar, which has several eateries around the state.

Tommy's in Cherry Hill will replace the former Houlihan's which abruptly closed early last year.
