Tornado Touched Down In South Jersey Thursday Morning, Officials Say

The brunt of the tornado's damage appears to have been in a section of Gloucester Township, Camden County, officials also said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The National Weather Service has confirmed that an F1-tornado struck Gloucester Township, Camden County Thursday morning.

One person stated on the National Weather Service's Facebook page that "Deer Park Circle in Blackwood got hit very bad. Sounded like a transformer blew up twice this morning around 5 a.m."

Another Facebook poster from Oaklyn wrote that area appeared to have "nothing more than some branches and hard thunderstorm [and] pretty docile rain and wind."
